The Star Note is unique for it is a substitute for the original note, which had some type of defect and was destroyed. The $2 Federal Reserve Note features an engraving of John Trumbull's painting "The Signing of the Declaration of Independence." The original Trumbull painting portrayed 47 people, 42 of whom were signers of the Declaration (there were 56 total).
However, because of a limited amount of space on the note, 5 of 47 men in the painting were not included in the engraving. Limited numbers of these remain so buy now before they are gone. This offering includes ten Consecutive 1995 $2 Atlanta Federal Reserve Star Notes in crisp uncirculated condition; all 10 notes come in their own protective currency sleeve. Guaranteed US Bureau of Engraving and Printing design and production.
Paper Currency:
As in the case of coins, the physical condition of a bill, bank note or other paper currency item is one of the most important factors in determining the item's value. In determining the condition or "grade" of paper money, a number of factors are taken into account including such things as creases, accumulated dirt, fading, tears, stains, etc.
Paper currency is graded on the basis of certain standards developed over the years by dealers and paper money organizations. The process of grading, being somewhat subjective, is more of an art than a science. While accurate grading requires skill and experience, determining an approximate grade is possible for even a novice collector.
