ProForm 450 UR Upright Bike

Let's be honest - exercise can be boring. Most of us just want to get through the workout and on with the rest of our day. In the business of fitness solutions, ProForm created Gamefit Interactive Video Games to help make exercising a little more fun. GameFit Video games not only keep you entertained throughout your workout, but because the games get easier based on how hard you exercise, they also help you get the most out of your workout time.

In addition to the interactive video games, it also features 10 workouts created by a Certified Personal Trainer to help you slim down and tone up. With all the other necessities like digital resistance, smooth magnetic resistance, and more, this is a great choice for anyone looking for a little something more in an upright bike.

Features and Specifications

  • EKG Dual Grip Heart Rate Monitor: Make the most out of every workout by monitoring your heart rate with these sensors that are built into the handlebars to ensure you are in the right training zone for your goals.
  • Workout Programs: Get in shape with 10 Personal Trainer workouts that automatically adjust the resistance of the bike to focus on aerobic, weight loss, or performance goals.
  • GameFit Games: Your favorite video games have been morphed into interactive fitness tools. Play Black Jack, Texas Hold 'Em, Dropping Pounds and Calorie Destroyer to pass the time or have a little fun as you exercise. The harder you work, the easier the game becomes.

  • Stationary Bikes

    Choosing a Stationary Bike:

A stationary bike is an excellent way to enjoy a safe, low- impact cardiovascular workout. In addition to providing many of the benefits of outdoor cycling, a stationary bike has the advantage of being available any time of day, in all types of weather.

A stationary bike is also a good choice for people who get bored with other exercise routines. With this kind of workout, you can watch TV or read a magazine while you ride. Most importantly, though, you’ll want to choose a bike that fits your needs.

On a recumbent stationary bike, you sit lower to the ground with your legs stretched in front of you. A padded seat with a backrest makes the workout more comfortable, especially for people who are overweight. The recumbent design lets you more effectively work both your front and rear leg muscles, and it promotes better circulation. The type of bike you choose is largely a matter of preference. Many people find recumbent bikes the most comfortable because of the added back support. As well, recumbent bikes are great for developing your gluteal muscles.

Upright stationary bikes allow you to work out in a standard bike-riding position. Basic models use a large metal flywheel combined with a tension setting to let you vary the difficulty of the workout. More advanced models use electromagnetic resistance and some may be programmed to automatically change the resistance level during your workout. Some upright stationary bikes also include moveable arms to give you an upper body workout while your ride.

The type of bike you choose is largely a matter of preference. Upright bikes often have the advantage of a built-in upper body workout, plus they usually take up less floor space than recumbent bikes. Upright bikes also tend to be a little less expensive.
