Waterford® Crystal Alana 12" Vase

Showcase your favorite blooms in elegant style. The rich diamond cuts of Alana, first introduced in 1952, are an unmistakable Waterford hallmark. In Gaelic, Alana is a term of endearment meaning 'Darling' or 'Darling Child'. This intricately detailed vase is sure to be a darling addition to your decor. Made in Ireland.

Featuring an opulent display of light and shades with deep hobnail diamond cuts, the vase adds elegant sparkle to any room. A dramatic statement on its own, the 12" vase is also sized to elegantly display long stemmed roses. Measures 12"H. Made of crystal. For indoor use only.

About Hobnail:
A term used to describe the regular pattern of raised knobs seen in the Alana pattern, the look is inspired by actual nails that used to be included in shoe soles. Used in inexpensive work boots, hobnails provided traction and durability, and World War I trench boots often included hobnail soles. During Victorian times, the hobnail pattern was very popular in glass items, often seen on lemonade sets. Bring a bit of history into your home with the hobnail pattern of Waterford's Alana collection!

Jorge Perez Waterford
A name synonymous with elegance and luxury, Waterford was founded in 1783 by George and William Penrose in the ancient Viking city of Waterford. From the start, the principle that would guide the company for more than 200 years was simple: handcraft crystal “as fine as any in Europe…in the most elegant style.”

The Penrose’s knew the secret to mixing just the right minerals and glass to produce crystal with beautiful and mysterious qualities. When tapped, it sang sweetly. When touched, it felt warm and soft. The magnificent pieces crafted in Waterford's early period set the standards now recognized as the hallmarks of Waterford Crystal.

Today, Waterford is the world’s top producer of handcrafted crystal, and continues to be the brand of choice for the most elegant of table settings and luxury lifestyle accoutrement.
