King-Werk Limited Edition "Alpine Festivity" Handcrafted Stoneware Stein

Make every day a reason to celebrate when you drink from this impressive stein. Handcrafted in the tradition of classic German "steinkrugs," the cobalt blue piece is covered with sculptured artwork showcasing a town celebration. Made in Germany.

Portraying men and women wearing classic lederhosen and dirndl, the stein features a festive group celebrating outdoors. The group is surrounded by sculptured edelweiss. At the base are the words, " Hoch edles nass, aus kuhlem fass", meaning: celebrate the wonderful drink, taken from the cooling barrel. Befitting the alpine theme, the handle is sculpted into the shape of a mountaineer. The stein is finished with a pointed pewter lid decorated with sculpted ornaments.

The limited edition stein is individually numbered by the painter - only 10,000 of this stein were created. Each stein is signed on the base by the modeler and painter.

Additional Information:
Measures 5.5"L x 3.9"W x 10"H. Weighs 2 pounds. Holds 17ounces. Made of stoneware. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

About King-Werk:
Founded in 1949, King-Werk is a family-owned business that practices the centuries old craft of stein making. Located in Germany's Western Forest, many King-Werk steins are based on antique designs. In the early 1500s, Germany established laws requiring that all food and beverage containers be covered to protect their contents, in reaction to several fly invasions and the bubonic plague. In response, easy-open "steinkrugs" were created with the lid, hinge and thumb lift combined. Created by skilled craftsman, you can carry on a European tradition with your own artful King-Werk stein.
