About Dreamcatchers
The design of these earrings resemble the Native American dreamcatcher which was popularized during the Pan-Indian movement of the 1960's through 1970's. A dream catcher is fashioned out of a rounded willow frame with a sinew web at the center. It is embellished with beads or rough stones at the center and leather strands at the sides trail with feathers. The idea behind the construction of a dreamcatcher is to catch the bad dreams of children. The good dreams pass through the center and slide down the feathers to the sleeping child. The bad dreams are caught and held in the "web" so that they dissipate in the light of dawn.
