Grand Suites "Topaz" Nine-Piece Bedding Ensemble

This opulent nine-piece ensemble will warm up your bedrrom with shades of chocolate, spice and gold! A framed medallion jacquard fabric, along with faux suede and dupioni, gives this set a lavish look. Details such as shirred fabric and embroidery offer texture while tassel fringe and ruched cording add the finishing touches. Available in Queen and King sizes. Made of 100% polyester. Imported.

    • Comforter
    The comforter features a rich jacquard fabric and is finished with ruched cording.

    Pillow Shams
    Fully embellished shams feature the same fabric as the comforter along with side panels of a shirred fabric and accents of the diamond-pattern foulard fabric in a rich shade of brown. The foulard fabric coordinates with the colors in the comforter. Queen size includes two Standard size shams. King size includes two King size shams.

    Euro Shams
    Euro shams provide added fullness and interest to any bedding ensemble. These are made of the same diamond-pattern foulard fabric as the bed skirt.

    Decorative Pillows
    Completing this lavish look are three decorative pillows. The 16" square pillow is a warm, rust color embellished with metalic gold detailing. The 18" x 13-1/2" oblong pillow is a smaller version of the pillow sham with tassels accenting the four corners. Finally, the 18" x 7" neckroll is wrapped in all three fabrics - the jacquard, diamond foulard and solid.

    Bed Skirt
    This tailored bed skirt is the diamond-pattern foulard brown fabric. It features five pleats, split corners and a 15" drop. Made of 90% polyester and 10% cotton.

    Machine wash in cold water on a gentle cycle. Do not bleach. Tumble dry low on a low setting. Lightly iron as needed. Decorative pillows are spot clean only.


    • Bedding Ensembles    


    Thread Count:

    Quality bedding is often defined by the thread count of the fabric, whether it's a sheet, a comforter or a blanket. Thread count is the number of woven threads in one square inch of fabric. Higher thread counts create higher-quality weaves that generally feel smoother and softer. Lower thread counts can pill and feel rough, but are affordable and serve their purposes just fine.

    Common thread counts range from 180 to 320, but thread counts as high as 700 also exist. The thread count alone doesn't determine how a fabric performs and feels, though. You'll also want to look at the yarn size and ply when determining the level of quality you desire.

    Yarn Size: Yarn size refers to the thickness of the individual threads that make up a woven fabric. The higher the yarn size, the finer the thread. Quality sheets usually have a yarn size ranging from 40 to 100. Finer yarns can only be made from high-quality, long staple cottons such as Supima. Yarn size is important to thread count because finer yarns take up less space than thicker yarns, thus the highest thread count sheets are generally made from the finest yarns.

    Ply: The other important component to thread count is ply. Single ply fabrics are made from individually woven threads of yarn, while two-ply fabrics are made from two threads of yarn that are first twisted together and then woven. Since two-ply fabrics have essentially double the thread count of their single ply counterparts, two-ply fabrics must be made from extremely fine yarns, otherwise the end product might feel too bulky and heavy.
