Inspired by his life-long love of cars, auto enthusiast Richard Griot founded Griot's Garage in 1990 in Vista, California. A true motor head, Griot’s passion for anything that rolls on rubber tires was ignited early in childhood and fueled in his teen years by an interesting experience. You see, the Griot family's neighbor at the time happened to be Adam West of "Batman" fame. West drove a Ferrari 308GT4 - the perfect elixir to ignite a young teen's passion for four-wheeled fun. After treating Griot to a drive one afternoon, West threw him the keys and Richard got behind the wheel. There and then he knew what he wanted to do, and he knew cars would be at the forefront.
