About the Bomber Jacket
Originally created in 1926, the bomber jacket was designed for pilots who participated in bombing raids. Typically made of leather or nylon, the jacket contains two front pockets, a lining and zippered front. The waist and cuffs typically feature an elastic or ribbed material. These jackets continued to evolve over the years and became a part of mainstream fashion. The style saw a particular spike in women's apparel during the 1980s.
