Sonia Bitton for Brilliante® Gold Embraced™ Round Charm Disk Pendant w/ Chain

This round charm pendant brings a hint of whimsy and iconic symbolism to your look. Crafted from gold embraced sterling silver, this pendant is offered in your choice of a Star of David, hamsa, cross or evil-eye design. Each pendant is studded with various Brilliante simulated diamonds and a single bail. Also included is an 18" cable chain that secures with a spring ring clasp.

Choose from one of the following:
The Star of David design features 44 round single cut 1.1mm and 30 round single cut Brilliante stones in prong settings. The total diamond equivalent weight for the Star of David design is approximately 0.44ct. It measures 1"L x 11/16"W x1/16"H.

The hamsa design features 30 round single cut 1.1mm Brilliante stones in prong settings and one round 1.4mm Brilliante stone in a bezel setting. The total diamond equivalent weight for the hamsa design is approximately 0.33ct. It measures 7/8"L x 5/8"W x 1/16"H.

The cross features 40 round single cut 1.1mm and one round single cut 1.4mm Brilliante stones in pave settings. The total diamond equivalent weight for the cross design is approximately 0.43ct. It measures 13/16"L x 13/16"W.

The eye design features 44 round single cut 1.1mm and one round single cut 1.2mm Brilliante stones in pave settings. The total diamond equivalent weight for the eye design is approximately 0.43ct It measures 13/16"L x 13/16"W.

Gold over Silver    Simulated Diamond    


Vermeil Plating:
Pronounced “vermay,” vermeil is an electroplating process in which 14K gold or higher is coated over sterling silver. Officially designated by the jewelry industry, items may only be sold as vermeil if they have a minimum thickness of 100 millionths of an inch (2.5 microns) of gold over the silver. Over time, vermeil will wear off and therefore will require re-plating.

To care for your plated jewelry items:

  • Remove jewelry before bathing, swimming, washing hands, putting on make-up, lotions, perfumes, and/or working with household chemicals, cleaners, or acidic liquids.
  • Do not clean plated jewelry in an ultrasonic cleaner or in silver cleaning solutions, as it could completely remove the plating finish from your item.
  • Ensure your jewelry item is thoroughly dry before storing. Moisture in an enclosed space can increase tarnishing.
  • Store your plated jewelry in a jewelry box lined with felt or anti-tarnish material. Items should not be stacked as this may cause damage to the plating surface.
  • Do not use excessive pressure when cleaning with a polishing cloth or soft brush, as this may cause damage to the plating.
  • Over time your plated items will need to be re-plated. Contact your local jeweler for information on plating services.


    On the Mohs Scale, which measures the hardness of minerals, simulated diamonds are an 8.0 to 8.5. Ruby, sapphire and diamond are all harder substances, but simulated stones are still very durable. It is important to understand that hardness is not necessarily related to durability. Even though diamond is the hardest mineral (10.0 on the Mohs Scale), it can still be chipped or broken.

    The only ways to tell the difference between simulated diamonds and diamonds are by use of a thermal probe, by weighing the loose stone or by microscopic examination of surface features and inclusions. Simulated diamonds weigh approximately 65% more than diamonds. Therefore, while a 6.25 mm round diamond weighs about 1.00 carat, the same size simulated diamond weighs about 1.65 carats. If you know the weight of a simulated diamond, you can figure out the diamond weight equivalent by multiplying its weight by 0.6, or 60%.

    Glossary

    Brilliance: The white light leaving a jewel, traveling upward, which is visible to the eye. Brilliance is sometimes referred to as “sparkle.”

    Dispersion: Flashes of rainbow colors. Also called “fire.”

    Hardness: Resistance to scratching. The higher the number, the more resistant.

    Luster: The shininess of a jewel.

    Toughness: Resistance to breakage.
