Tencel is the first new fabric to be developed from a natural plant fiber in 50 years. It is breathable and absorbent, and is both sturdier and more shrink resistant than cotton. Tencel is colorfast, meaning it will not noticeably bleed or fade with washings. Tencel requires some special care:
- Machine wash tencel using a mild detergent and the gentle wash cycle.
- Most wrinkles will drop out if garments are drip dried instead of machine dried.
- Tencel should not be ironed. If some wrinkles do not drop out, briefly place the garment and a damp towel in the dryer on a low setting. You can also try hanging the garment in the bathroom while you shower.
