Extra-strong and lightweight, nylon is one of the most versatile synthetic fabrics. It has wonderful elasticity and resiliency and is responsive to heat setting. Its fibers are non-absorbent, smooth, fast-drying and not easily weakened. Here are laundering tips:
- Most nylon garments are machine washable and dryable at low temperatures.
- Machine wash with warm water and add fabric softener to the final rinse cycle.
- Wash nylon whites separately to avoid graying. Plus, bleach nylon whites frequently with sodium perborate bleach to combat yellowing.
- To minimize static electricity when drying, use a dryer sheet.
- Remove nylon garments from the dryer as soon as the tumbling cycle ends.
- Use a warm iron on the wrong side when necessary.
