Omar Torres 4.50ctw Rectangular Multi Gemstone Band Ring

A neat and crisp design with sparkling multi-hued shine! Designed with platinum over sterling silver, this boldly contemporary yet timeless classic ring presents various rectangle briolette cut 7mm gemstones in bezel settings that surround the wide band. The gemstones included are peridots, garnets, citrines, amethysts and London blue topaz.

The total peridot weight is 0.80ct, the total London blue topaz weight is 1.02ct, the total amethyst weight is 0.76ct, the total garnet weight is 1.16ct and the total citrine weight is 0.76ct (all approximate). This ring has a setting size of 7/16"L x 7/8"W and a height of 1/8".

Gold over Silver    


Vermeil Plating:
Pronounced “vermay,” vermeil is an electroplating process in which 14K gold or higher is coated over sterling silver. Officially designated by the jewelry industry, items may only be sold as vermeil if they have a minimum thickness of 100 millionths of an inch (2.5 microns) of gold over the silver. Over time, vermeil will wear off and therefore will require re-plating.

To care for your plated jewelry items:

  • Remove jewelry before bathing, swimming, washing hands, putting on make-up, lotions, perfumes, and/or working with household chemicals, cleaners, or acidic liquids.
  • Do not clean plated jewelry in an ultrasonic cleaner or in silver cleaning solutions, as it could completely remove the plating finish from your item.
  • Ensure your jewelry item is thoroughly dry before storing. Moisture in an enclosed space can increase tarnishing.
  • Store your plated jewelry in a jewelry box lined with felt or anti-tarnish material. Items should not be stacked as this may cause damage to the plating surface.
  • Do not use excessive pressure when cleaning with a polishing cloth or soft brush, as this may cause damage to the plating.
  • Over time your plated items will need to be re-plated. Contact your local jeweler for information on plating services.

    About the Guest
    Designer and guest Omar Torres has been creating beautiful things for more than 30 years. An ambitious 18 year-old he began training with the masters as apprentice for the incomparable Jean Bellevier, then a master designer for Tiffany's. Since, his path has included many of the biggest names in jewelry and fashion, including Van Cleef & Arpels, Movado and Bulgari, where he helped design many of Bulgari's signature looks of the day. In addition to his design work, Mr. Torres' background includes 20+ years as a professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York, and many of his former students can be found in notable design positions worldwide.
